Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Dynamic Interchange different from other training companies?

Our focus on practical application.

At Dynamic Interchange we take pride in creating learning experiences that relate directly to on the job issues. While we first teach the theoretical aspects of a concept or skill, we then practice the skill using real life situations from the work place. In fact, participants are invited to bring issues to class so we can apply the material to their current work.

Rather than "time out" for a workshop, participants are able to complete some or their work while learning to apply the new skills and solve challenges.

What is the difference between a lecture and a workshop?

Our workshops provide skill-building, practice and practical application. Participants don't just learn a new concept; they learn how to put the new concept to use while receiving coaching and feedback from an expert facilitator.

We created our lecture series to meet the needs of larger audiences who need familiarity with the subject but don't need to apply skills. Our lectures provide valuable information but they focus on the transfer of knowledge rather than skill.

As an example: sitting through a lecture on tennis will provide you with knowledge of the game, attending a tennis lesson will help you build the skills to apply that knowledge and improve your ability to succeed.

If we schedule a workshop from your catalog will it be customized?

All of our work is customized to one degree or another because we always use work examples to practice skill building. At the customers request we can also create new exercises and case studies specific to your industry and company. The degree of customization is up to you.

Can Dynamic Interchange design, build and deliver a workshop specific to our industry and company?

Yes. The courses "Critical Thinking Skills", Negotiation Skills for Case Managers" and "Culture in the Workplace" were all created and delivered based on learning objectives supplied by different customers. We have also worked with the "California Worker's Compensation Institute" to create a training program for changes in the law, and with the "American Medical Association" to create a training program for physicians to help them understand and apply the Disability Guidelines published by the AMA.

We start with your objectives. What skill or knowledge would you like your employees to be able to demonstrate upon finishing the workshop? Then we create learning points for your review. Once you have agreed to the objectives and learning points we build content and exercises to teach the skill or knowledge you require.

We teach one "rough draft" workshop to ensure that the materials are clear and meet your needs and then we finalize the material and advise you on an implementation plan for the course work.

We then facilitate workshops for you, or we can facilitate a "train-the-trainer" session to teach the material to designated employees who then become your in-house trainers.

How much does it cost to partner with Dynamic Interchange?

Our fees vary based on the level of design or customization, the length of our involvement, the size and locations of the population to be trained and other variables.

You tell us what you want and we will work with you to provide the most cost effective solution.

Why don't you deliver courses over the web?

Our facilitators are trained to model the skills they are teaching and to coach individuals in the effective use of those skills. The individual attention we provide and the real time practical application of skills and skill building practice does not lend itself to presentation over the web.
